After talking to Carl Finley about energy efficiency methods he utilizes in construction and how much real cost savings his home owners realize, I recognize that being my own general contractor when I built my house seven years ago was a mistake. My heating costs are approximately double compared to comparable sized homes that Carl builds. Having an energy efficient house is like lowering your monthly mortgage payment!

Dear Carl and Peggy,
We just had to write and tell you how thrilled we are with our new home! The quality of construction and the aesthetics inside and out, have surpassed our expectations. This was the fourth new home we have built, but it was the first in Ohio. We interviewed numerous builders, but when we first met both of you in May of 2006, we knew we had found the builder and company we wanted to build our home. We loved knowing we would be working with the decision make for the company throughout construction. Having Carl so available made the entire process convenient, efficient and cost effective. On our previous homes, we worked with a "site foreman", only seeing the builder or company president after the closing.
This was the first time we were building on a lot we had purchased. We found you to be especially helpful when we had numerous questions concerning construction loans, insurance during construction, and permits. You provided solutions to all of our questions allowing the project to move forward quickly.
When the blueprints were complete, we could not believe how beautiful Carl had made the sides and back of the house. Of course, we expected the front to be pleasing to the eye, but Carl used wonderful columns, arches and a variety of building materials to create lovely elevations on all sides. The actual construction of the house was scheduled and carried out with timely and careful planning. We had never seen a builder create a timeline of the construction process before! You were wonderful about introducing us to all the sub contractors we would be working with. They were all so courteous. It was especially nice to meet people who took genuine pride in the quality of their work. From the sub contractors we learned how particular Carl was about every aspect of the house (ok, they said you were very picky). These comments were music to our ears. The interaction of homeowner, home builder and sub contractors you provided was integral to us getting the finished product we desired.
You can be assured we will recommend Carl Finley Builders with the highest accolades. Building a home can be frustrating and stressful, but you both made the experience fun and not full of surprises. We were always amazed when we reviewed our change orders and the house contract price how our numbers were so close to yours. This once again illustrates how efficient it was to work with the decision maker on a regular basis. Your integrity was unparalleled when it cam to keeping us updated on pricing. After the electrical work came back under budget, and you showed us the credit, we were both pleasantly shocked. No other builder we had previously worked with would have credited the amount back to us.
Thank you for building us a house we are so proud to call home. It was such a pleasure to work with both of you. We wanted a home with a floor plan that suited our needs and wants. We wanted the home to be beautiful and well built. You gave us everything we asked for and more!

It has been our experience that anyone who builds a house find it a terrible ordeal. Many of our friends have stated, "they would never build again". We just moved into our new home built by Carl Finley, and we had nothing but a positive experience! We did lots of "looking" before we decided to go with Carl Finley. And even after making that decision, I checked many references of families for whom he had built homes. I could not find a single person who had a complaint. And now I know why. From start to finish on our house, Carl was meticulous to detail and schedule. He was accessible through email and/or phone the whole time with the exception of a vacation that he made sure we knew about. His sub-contractors were nothing but professional and personable. They were courteous to us when we were on site every day, and always had something good to say about Carl. There were some minor glitches over the four months, but nothing that was met with anything but a willingness to correct and in a very timely manner. When Carl was on site when we were there, he was so proud of his work and would show off the newest "completion" of the day. It was like he was building the house for himself! He always fielded our million questions with patience and poise. He gave us the feeling that no question was dumb.
From start to finish, it was a positive four months! We love our new home, and if we are asked if we would ever build again, the answer would be a resounding yes...as long as it is with Carl Finley Builders!
